Tostilocos are a very popular snack sold and served by street vendors all across Mexico and in the southwestern parts of the US. They are sort of like a Texas Trash/Spicy Chex Mix in that you can put whatever you want in them and use whatever flavor of Tostitos or other brand of corn chip you want. And like Texas Trash, more is bigger and better! So use this recipe as a guide, I have included the traditional elements, crunchy raw vegetables, crunchy nuts, sweet and spicy candies, other salty snacks and of course, lots of salsas—Chamoy, Clamato (Tomato/Clam sauce), and loads of Valentina! Finish it with a squeeze of lime and a few shakes of Tajín. The most important part is to have fun and use the ingredients you like and remember, this is messy so lean into it!
